Photo Elysée makes its exhibitions and collections accessible to as many people as possible thanks to various cultural mediation offers: guided tours, creative workshops, concerts, performances and round tables. The museum positions itself as a place of welcome, exchange, learning and discovery, open to all.

BookThematic workshops to explore photography
Work on composition or shooting, cyanotype or experimental processes, workshops for adults focus on different aspects and techniques of photography. They are open to 16-year-olds and over, and are supervised by a photographer.

Ville en tête, in collaboration with Plateforme 10, the MCBA, mudac and Photo Elysée, offers guided tours of the new museum centre in Lausanne. Several walks present and question the architecture of the museums, as well as their location on the Plateforme 10 site. The tours are aimed at the general public but are adapted to answer questions from building professionals.
One site, three museums
One site, three museums tour: architectural tour of the Plateforme 10 site, with historical information on the development of the site and the creation of the three museums. The tour takes place mainly outside, with limited access to the museums.

Photo Elysée – mudac
Photo Elysée – mudac tour: architectural tour of the Photo Elysée and mudac buildings, designed by the architects Aires Mateus. Subject to availability, tours are possible every day except on Tuesdays, when the museums are closed.

Make discovery fun
Our children’s workshops explore photography through a variety of artistic practices. Children are encouraged to experiment with different techniques, from collage to drawing, printing and painting. The theme of the workshops varies according to the exhibitions, and the playful aspect allows children to learn while having fun.
All workshops are supervised by a mediator.

Would you like to discover our exhibitions in a fun and interactive way? We've created a visitor's guide that turns observation into a game! With ten simple and captivating questions, it guides you to explore each photograph from a new angle. Make the most of it during your visit, whether as a family or as part of a self-guided tour with your pupils.
The tool is completely free and is available from the museum reception desk. So don't wait any longer to try it out on your next visit!
A different way to learn
At Photo Elysée, we encourage young people to immerse themselves in the world of photography and are delighted to welcome school groups. For these tours, admission to the museum is free for students and the people accompanying them.
Reservation for classes is mandatory, with or without a guided tour, at least two weeks in advance.

Sign upL'Atelier Photo Elysée is a freely accessible space open to everyone. It is occupied by artists with immersive installations that speak about photography. L'Atelier also regularly offers activities to explore photography while having fun, as well as a selection of books that can be freely consulted.
As part of extracurricular activities, Photo Elysée offers children and teenagers guided tours in groups related to the exhibitions.

Available slots: Wednesday afternoons and during school holidays, from 1 pm to 5 pm
Reservation required: two weeks in advance
Photo Elysée has developed a policy for welcoming young children and offers early childhood professionals suitable visiting conditions to conduct a tour independently.

Photo Elysée develops visits tailored to the needs and abilities of children, teenagers, and adults with disabilities. Depending on the group's needs, the approaches offered during a visit are varied.

Accessibility measures at Photo Elysée
In order to bring art and culture to as many people as possible, Photo Elysée is developing a range of tools and educational projects to reach out to audiences who can't or don't usually visit museums.
Photography at your doorstep!
The Photomobile reaches out to audiences who are unable or unaccustomed to visiting the museum. It offers studio sessions led by professional photographers. People supported by socio-cultural institutions in the Canton of Vaud are invited to take part.

Photo Elysée guarantees different audiences not only the appropriate cultural offer, but also the right to have unrestricted access to the content, building, job offers and various communication tools.
CALM VISIT
The exhibitions include various noise sources such as videos or music. Noise-canceling devices—headphones or disposable earplugs—are available for loan at the museum reception desk to reduce sensory stimulation during your visit (33 dB).
