TRAIN 2 VIE

A short film by Hugo Labat

I'm just passing by...

Between a nod to the artistic avant-garde and a representation of urban culture, the short film by Lausanne-based video artist Hugo Labat (Switzerland, 1997) shows the hidden side of the railway world.

Trains are the theater of a rich social mix leading to legal or illegal practices, which testify to an active counter-culture. The latter is codified, filled with individuals whose art and practices are silenced. This counter-culture is the soil in which Hugo Labat and his team have planted their inspiration, out of a desire to demonstrate its beauty, its richness, its differences.

A short film by Hugo Labat, made for the exhibition Train Zug Treno Tren. Crossing Lines, presented at Photo Elysée from June 18 to September 25, 2022.
