Photo Elysée

A new identity, a new building, a new chapter

On September 23, 2021, the Musée de l’Elysée will adopt a new identity: Photo Elysée. Closely linked to our move to Plateforme 10, our new identity puts photography first and reinforces our primary mission: to promote the photographic medium in all its forms.

Through a semantic and graphic play, Photo Elysée invites you to see - to see differently, to see further. The logo can be integrated transparently or in contrast on all communication media, digital or traditional, in a nod to the colour codes used in photography.

Created by the graphic design agency Gavillet & Cie, based in Geneva and Lausanne, Photo Elysée aims to be bold and international. Another key component of the identity is the typographical design, developed by Swiss graphic designer François Rappo. Geometric, precise and finely wrought, it states loud and clear the museum’s qualities and unique character.

L'Elysée hors champ

"There was one prerequisite: not to touch the word Elysée. So that's what we did while gravitating around it, thinking about what we could subtract, add or modify from the old name," explains Gilles Gavillet, founder of Gavillet & Cie.
