"Josef Koudelka is a lone wolf. He only needs his camera and himself." – Gilad Baram
The exhibition Josef Koudelka. Ikonar. Archival Constellations is the first exhibition devoted to the entire oeuvre of Josef Koudelka in Switzerland since 1977. For the first time, this exhibition and publication project offers new perspectives on his career by exploring in depth part of his personal archive, in particular the 30,000 35mm contact sheets covering the years 1960-2012.
As part of the exhibition, Photo Elysée asked several people who worked with Josef Koudelka to share their memories and anecdotes. They evoke the multiple facets of the photographers' personality and work.
The exhibition Josef Koudelka. Ikonar. Archival Constellations was showcased at Photo Elysée from November 5, 2022, to January 29, 2023.
