Chaplin Kit

A group activity to bring to your classes!

The exhibition kit Chaplin in History invites students to an introduction to various museum practices. Thanks to a selection of photographs taken from two classic films by the famous filmmaker of Modern Times (1936) and The Dictator (1940), this activity focuses on the discovery of the different professions that animate Photo Elysée, and on how a temporary exhibition is developed.

Particularly adapted to high school students in the visual arts, history and art history, the kit is also intended for general studies at the secondary level.  This project allows participants to learn about Chaplin’s work, and his influence on the film industry of his day, as well as develop skills for the semiotic analysis of the photographic image. It also encourages teamwork, allowing participants to take an active role in the development of a common project while acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge linked to the museum field.
