Fellini, la Grande Parade

The new exhibition of the Musée de l’Elysée reveals the sources of Fellini’s inspiration. Focussing on Fellini’s work through his obsessions by presenting the images that inspired him, those of which he dreamed and those he brought to life, Fellini, la Grande parade provides a new point of view on the maestro’s work.

Consisting of photographs, Fellini’s drawings, vintage film posters, vintage magazines, but also film clips, screen tests, deleted scenes, home movies, vintage news and interviews, the exhibition acts as a visual laboratory. Far from just a director’s filmography, it raises questions about the 20th century in which he lived. The century of cinema, but also of media, television and advertising. In short, the century of the image or more precisely, the century of image-making.

The exhibition Fellini, la Grande parade is co-produced with Le Jeu de Paume, Paris and NBC Photographie, and is organised in partnership with the Fondation Fellini in Rimini, the Fondation Fellini pour le cinéma in Sion, the Cinémathèque suisse and Cinémathèque in Bologna.
