The Helvetia Circus, a microcosm documented by Yves Leresche

I realized I was filling a kind of gap in the photographic record.

Photographer Yves Leresche spent several months immersed in the Cirque Helvetia, accompanying the artists in their daily lives.

His documentary approach highlights the human dimension of a microcosm that is generally perceived only through its performances. Through his photographs, he reveals the multiple roles of the artists, their daily lives, and their itinerancy, helping to fill an iconographic void surrounding this little-documented reality.

A powerful visual testimony, combining social commentary, aesthetic sensitivity, and a commitment to a more complete collective memory.
