All the museums are exceptionally open and free on Monday, August 1, to mark the exceptional visit of the President of the Confederation, Mr. Ignazio Cassis. The program includes performances, a popular festival and 4-Hour Vaudois on the esplanade of Plateforme 10.
For the President’s traditional Swiss National Day trip and popular meet-and-greet, the current President of the Confederation Ignazio Cassis has chosen this year to go back to the roots of Swiss imagery and the Swiss imagination onboard the most emblematic vehicle of our nation’s genius, the train. The final stop on the President’s railroad adventure will include, at Lausanne’s invitation, the traditional presidential speech in our city. Topping off the event, the Presidential Special will stop at the Plateforme 10 station, between MCBA and the new mudac and Photo Elysée building.
With the cooperation of Cirque au Sommet and the boisterous uproarious troupe Rouge Nord, we are preparing for him a first-class reception and a August first like you’ve never seen before!

5:30pm : Meeting of the President of the Confederation with the population
7pm: End of the President's visit and continuation of the popular festival.
