"What interests me the most about photography is how it has been changed by the advent of digital technology, what it allows us to do, but also what it changes in our practice as photographers and consumers of images." – Mathieu Bernard-Reymond
Over the years, Lausanne-based photographer Mathieu Bernard-Reymond (France, 1976) has developed a practice with contours broadened by generative technologies and data manipulation.
In this video, Mathieu Bernard-Reymond talks about the D'après Ramuz project. In an approach based on photographic exploration, he has chosen to combine extracts from the writings of C. F. Ramuz with image-generating artificial intelligence tools. The aim is to give shape to the mental images usually formed when reading a text, gradually transforming them into a visual reality, a world of one's own.
The exhibition Mathieu Bernard-Reymond × La Muette. D'après Ramuz is on view at the Signal L on Plateforme 10 from November 2, 2023 to February 25, 2024.
